I have 6 varieties available in a surprise sale. These are imported tubers (via Holland) and I am reselling them. Flower farms often buy imported tubers to increase their stock quickly.
What you need to know:
1. These will be tuber clumps, not individual tubers. You plant the whole clump. Do not try to divide unless you have a lot of dividing experience. You may notice some tubers hanging on by a thread to the center- this is normal. These tubers are mechanically harvested and some breakage is normal. Don’t worry about clipping anything off. Just plant the whole clump.
2. As far as I know, these are true to name. But since I didn’t grow them, please understand I will not be offering refunds if a different variety from what you ordered blooms this fall. You have about the same chance of a variety mix up as when you buy tubers grown on a small farm.
3. “I’ve heard all imported tubers have gall.” Imported tubers have a slightly higher chance of gall disease than tubers that are hand dug because each individual clump is not receiving close attention. I’ve been growing from imported tubers for years (like the majority of small flower farms) have found the rate of gall disease in imported tubers to be very small- like around 2-3%. The rate has also gone down over previous years as improvements in growing practices have come into fruition.
4. The shipping cost is a bit higher for these because they are heavier since I’m shipping the whole clump. I will refund if there is a lot of overage. It’s hard to know the exact price so I’m making sure my time and postage are covered.
5. If you are local, please choose pick up- it’s so much faster to pack a pick up order. Local Pick Up will be May 6 from 9-6 PM. If you can’t make this date, email me- we will work it out.
6. This is a one time thing. I have no plans to become a tuber reseller. I am growing lots of new varieties this year specifically for tuber sales! I just don’t see the point in letting the tubers go to waste.
All Tubers are sold as is. If you notice something horribly wrong, you have 5 days from receipt of your order to email us and let us know. Please include pictures with your email.
